Meet The Team

 
 

Abhinav is responsible for operations, fundraising, strategic planning. he is a Cordes Fellow, Resolution Fellow, Trust Scholar, Watson Scholar, Re;co Fellow and a One Young World Ambassador. He is also the co-founder & chief thought officer at Little Big Fund and the co-facilitator of entrepreneurship, innovation and social change course at the U Peace Center For Executive Education. Abhinav has a B.A in political science from Earlham College.

Lau is the regional lead in Los Santos region in Costa Rica. She is responsible for recruiting farmers into our Resilient Communities Initiative, managing farmer relationship and providing support for the smallholder women producers on their learning journey with Bean Voyage.

Laura Gómez (she/her)

Regional Leader (Costa Rica)

Vivi is the regional lead in Brunca region in Costa Rica. She is responsible for recruiting farmers into our Resilient Communities Initiative, managing farmer relationship and providing support for the smallholder women producers on their learning journey with Bean Voyage.

Viviana Gómez (she/her)

Regional Leader (Costa Rica)

Fernanda is responsible for curriculum development, program management, and farmer relations for our projects in Costa Rica. In the past, she has led projects related to indigenous and women's rights in the southern part of Costa Rica. She holds a B.A in sociology from the University of Costa Rica.

Fernanda Carrillo (she/her)

Program Manager (Costa Rica)

Maria Jose leads operations in Costa Rica. She closely works with our producer partners, and community-based facilitators in coffee farming communities and their representatives, manages the relationship with thought partners, and hosts training in rural Costa Rica. She holds a B.A. in social work from the University of Costa Rica.

Maria Jose Monge (she/her)

Operations Manager

Flor is responsible for supply chain management, farmer relationships and quality analysis for Market Readiness Initiative both in Costa Rica and Mexico.

Flor currently holds Q Arabica grader certification. Her expertise extended to the competition stage, where she served as a sensory judge at the Costa Rica National Barista Championship 2023 and the Korea National Aeropress Championship 2023.

Currently, Flor is embarking on exciting new chapters, establishing a family-owned coffee farm and micro mill in the enchanting Orosi Coffee Region and as a new member of Bean Voyage team. This venture reflects Flor's deep connection to the origins of coffee and her commitment to sustainability and quality.

Natali Venegas (she/her)

Regional Leader (Costa Rica)

Itzel is responsible for farmer relationships, and supply chain management in Mexico. She is an engineer in Horticulture by training and has a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. She is also a floral artist certified by the Escuela Española de Arte Floral, and a coffee taster certified by Colegio de Postgraduados. She has developed and implemented projects with rural communities in Veracruz, Mexico on topics of gender equality and family rights, and is the owner and floral designer at Etxal Arte Floral. She is an environmental activist and a founding Member of Colectivo Rokunin.

Sunghee is responsible for market outreach, external communication, programming, and strategic planning. She is a SCA's LEAD Scholar, Re:co Fellow, SOCAP Fellow, Byron Fellow, and Davis Scholar, who regularly contributes to coffee magazines. Previously, she led organizations working on youth empowerment, early childhood education, and human rights. she holds an MSc in Public Policy at the London School of Economics and a B.A. in Economics from Earlham College.
