Training
Access to knowledge and information has been a barrier to rural women as they aspire to improve farm practices, grow healthier plants and compete in the market.
our training aims to equip smallholder women producers with knowledge, tools, and network to promote sustainable farming and business practices on their farms.
This is how we train:
We hire local youths as facilitators and provide them with training on key business management, leadership, and coffee knowledge.
Facilitators host live sessions with participants via WhatsApp - an accessible tech tool, creating a safe learning environment for them to connect and learn with/from one another.
Over the course of 2 years, participants receive curated learning materials on key topic areas - climate-smart agriculture, gender and communities, finance, and sustainable business practices - to enhance their understanding, receive feedback on their practices and have access to the network of field experts for mentorship and pro-bono advice.
To support adaptation in changing times, the 2021 training module focused on adaptation to climate change & gender and community leadership including soil management, and crop diversification.
Individual Giving
Our training improves farm productivity and yield, and ensures higher income and food security for smallholder women farmers.
