MEET
Anayanshy Oltehua Tezoco
Anayanshy’s journey in coffee began after the loss of her mother.
Her journey
What started as a responsibility- helping her father manage the farm- gradually became a passion. Over time, she began to appreciate the dedication her parents had poured into the land, and coffee became a way to honor that legacy. Her biggest inspiration is her mother, who, pregnant and barely supported, began planting coffee on land gifted by her in-laws. Her determination eventually drew in her husband, and together they built the farm Anayanshy helps lead today.
For Anayanshy, two moments in the season stand out: harvesting parchment from the drying beds while playing with her nephews, and lunch time during harvest when her father leads a prayer in the fields, offering thanks for food and community.

But the work is demanding. As a young woman landowner, she’s often not taken seriously.
Some workers refuse to collaborate simply because she—not her father—is in charge. Transporting cherries from the farm is exhausting, and because of limited sunlight at her home, she borrows a drying space up hill, repeating the heavy labor each day.
Still, Anayanshy is committed. She maintains family traditions, like preparing a meal for harvest workers at season’s end, and dreams of competing in Cup ofExcellence. To see her coffee reach other parts of the world is a tribute to her parents' perseverance and a reminder that her mother’s efforts continue to bloom through every harvest.
