MEET

Rosa Elisa Morales Sampieri

Rosa Elisa is building a future from the ground up, combining poultry and coffee farming with leadership, learning, and community collaboration.

Mexico

Her journey

At 18, Rosa Elisa felt the weight and joy of her family’s agricultural legacy. Coffee and poultry were more than livelihoods—they were a shared identity, a source of learning, and a way to connect with the land and family. Yet she lacked the confidence and technical knowledge to take independent initiative.

Through Farmer School and Seed Funds, she upgraded her poultry operations, acquiring hens, quails, feed, and materials for improved coops. She learned to manage daily care, vaccinations, and feed, while absorbing guidance from mentors and experienced producers. “I want to ensure that the knowledge and experience I gain benefit not only me but others around me. I feel a responsibility to guide future generations.”

“I want to grow what I have, expand my lands, raise free-range poultry, and diversify into other animals—building a sustainable, productive farm for the future.”

Key Learnings

  • Sustainable poultry management

  • Leadership and responsibility as a young woman in agriculture

  • Adaptation to operational and logistical challenges

  • Community collaboration and knowledge exchange

Transformation
Rosa Elisa has transformed her operations into a functional, productive system. She leads her project confidently, inspiring her peers and fostering sustainable family involvement. Her knowledge now extends beyond her farm, influencing and supporting her local producer network.
