MEET
Fabiola J. Cozar
Fabiola turned a simple dream of raising chickens into a thriving, confidence-building project that strengthened her family and community ties.
Her journey
At just 20, Fabiola already felt deeply connected to coffee and agriculture. For her, farming wasn’t just work—it was love, family, and tradition. But despite her passion, she lacked experience, resources, and confidence to lead a project independently. When her sister-in-law invited her to Farmer School, Fabiola saw the opportunity to learn, grow, and take ownership of her vision.
Through the program, Fabiola received mentorship and seed funding to establish a chicken coop. She purchased chicks, feed, and materials, navigating the challenges of remote logistics and animal health. “At first, I was shy about speaking in front of people. Now I feel heard, and I am confident sharing my ideas and making decisions. It’s been an empowering experience.” She gained skills in project planning, animal care, and daily farm management, all while strengthening family participation.
